I am presently in Vietnam and I wanted to share my thoughts with you.
I observe Vietnam as a most exotic country, the friendliest and kindest I have met. I don’t know why the Vietnamese like Americans so much especially after the Vietnam War (they call it the American war) where every family lost someone. They don’t hold any grudges. It is their Buddhist religion that teaches them to forgive & forget. We can certainly learn something from this attitude!
There are so many motor bikes that crossing the street in Saigon, Denang or Hanoi is like a game of dare. You can’t look left and right because you would be there ’till the next day; you have to just cross by pretending to have blinders on and go across with a destination as the other side! Quiet a challenge. They look at traffic accidents as population control.
The smells of the market place, colorful rice and fruits, crowded streets and tea stands with plastic doll furniture to sit on the sidewalk make Vietnam a photographer’s heaven!
