In what was once the main post office of the city, the privately owned Fullerton Hotel has become the newest chic hotel in Singapore. Located on the river bank in the center of town, the Fullerton Hotel has more than earned its most recent award as the best hotel in Asia. While on the outside it still looks like the post office it once was, on the inside it is a modern hotel made graceful with old columns and high ceilings. In addition to great looks, the food, service and views of the water are unbeatable at this property.
Singapore itself is a clean, cosmopolitan city with much to do and see, even if only for a day or two. In addition to the fine shopping and variety of international restaurants, there is a world class zoo, a butterfly farm, and a golf course with an observation tower. There is even a small offshore island connected by a sky tram, ferry, or train complete with amusements.
This South Asian city is spotlessly clean and very orderly. Strict rules ensure that it stays that way. A pedestrian can be fined for spitting or for throwing gum out on the sidewalk. As a matter of fact, the city’s merchants are not allowed to sell gum anywhere!! Selling drugs commands the death penalty. This goes a long way towards deterring crime and makes Singapore very safe to visit. The people are proud of their city and welcome all nationalities to visit or live there.
