So many of my friends think that cruises are for lame travelers who need someone to hold their hand while on vacation. What’s wrong with having your bed made every day, dining nearly anytime you want, seeing shows at night, enjoying casinos and live music at many nightclubs and sipping drinks poolside? Waking up to a different destination each day allows for exploring new ports or islands, then returning to your little shipboard haven where your dinner, entertainment and accommodations are all waiting…and no need to worry about how much dinner will cost! With the Euro these days, this is a blessing! I know, perhaps less exciting to see just islands or port towns when you can be climbing Mt. Everest or swinging between trees in Costa Rica, but when most of the population has already done that, isn’t it nice every once in a while just to chill out and leave your malaria pills and backpack at home?
Nobody said every vacation has to be so adventurous…that when you arrive back home you are required to have awesome photos of trekking with the gorillas or cooking outside along the rivers. Relaxing and just letting your mind and body (although gyms are amazing on these cruises) have a rest is also quite cool! It’s the best way to renew your body for your next adventure!
