This is getting ridiculous! When Princess went “ticketless” it was a nightmare and still is. Now NCL is joining them. Not that NCL’s cruise documents were so classy (papers folded in a plastic see through folder!) but at least when someone spent upwards of $3000 for their cruise, they had something in their hand when they boarded the ship. Putting aside the fact that, in order for us to print the e-tickets for Princess Cruises, the client must already have entered all their passport information and dates of birth on-line. If one of our clients doesn’t have a computer or know someone who has one, they have to tell us all their information by phone and we have to enter it or call it in before we can print their tickets on paper.
The cruise lines have made their travel partners do their jobs!! They don’t want to pay to send tickets or issue them, so we now do their jobs….no extra $$ for our printers or paper! Our job is to advise our clients about wonderful vacation options, making their dream trip a reality, not to do tasks like ticket printing and policing our clients to make sure they have completed their immigration information.
I will continue to sell those crusie lines that still value their product enough to provide the client with a document that they deserve when embarking on a cruise.
