Travel insurance - not just for illness or cancellation

I just had a client arrive in Italy without all their luggage because of numerous flight delays. They had to buy some essentials and as you know the airlines don’t care how many toothbrushes or pair of socks you need. They don’t bother compensating you for anything, and if they offer, the amount of paperwork and documentation they require does not make it worth the effort.

That’s another advantage of insurance. They offer money- a substantial amount of about $250 pp for purchasing travel essentials while you wait for them to deliver the luggage sometimes 2 days later.

For as little as a couple hundred dollars, a family can be protected and recoup hundreds if necessary. This is in addition to full medical payments while away from home. Don’t forget, some health
Insurance companies do not cover you out of the USA! Make sure you have checked that out before you travel.
