Looking for a tour to China or another exotic destination? First place everyone looks is the net. You can find hundreds of tour companies, people touting themselves as tour guides who speak 6 different languages and prices lowballed for the internet consumer.
What will you find when you arrive? hopefully someone who speaks your language when they guide you through history and architecture and drive you around safely.
Ever wonder what happens when these people don’t show up to pick you up after you have paid for their services? Who do you call? Why is one tour $3000. and another $5000? Check out hotels, what is included (3 meals a day or just breakfast). Are admissions into historical sites and museums included? Will your guide also be the driver? Is it less expensive to join a tour and if so how many people will be on your tour?
All these are questions you should ask yourself when you look on the net to find a company to use for a tour in a country where you don’t speak their language or can’t follow a guidebook because you can’t even read the street signs. There are reasons for price differences. They may only be 1 less star in a hotel and that would be fine, but if it means that you are one of 50 people in a group, or that the guide speaks poorly and is not educated well in the places you visit, your savings goes down the drain!
