Make sure to plan early for these school holidays. The airlines have already begun to raise their rates to as much as $1400 per person for a nonstop fare from NY to some Caribbean destinations. If you are willing to change planes many times, you can book later. During the winter months, nonstop air travel is better and reduces chances for misconnecting. Jet Blue has just come out with their fares for holidays and they, too have raised their fares for holiday travel to about $800 pp for a round trip to Cancun. If you wait until later, there won’t be any space left. There is availability at resorts and hotels in warm weather destinations, but getting there is difficult if you wait until last minute….. then again, you can always cruise out of NY and other eastern cities for a wonderful Caribbean cruise, it only takes a day to get into warm weather once you depart from the North! No worries about airport hassles or delayed flights!
