Bob Dickenson, president and CEO of Carnival Cruise Lines will be retiring this year. I first met Bob 15 years ago when I opened my office on a Carnival sponsored trip to Florida where we were taken to see many of their ships while in port. It was my first experience on this type of trip and the one most memorable to me. His enthusiasm for the cruise product and the statistics of why people should be open on weekends in a retail agency and how few people have experienced a cruise made me excited for my new found profession. Since then, he has helped the cruise and leisure travel industry grow immensely.
Every problem was an opportunity to improve service and products and the training he offered to agents was the best in the industry. He made all travel agents realize they had to provide a service and be excellent sales people. His humor, wit and unending passion for cruising and Carnival will be sorely missed. Wishing him all the health and happiness in his retirement!
