We all think of an organized tour in Europe or any other worldwide destination as the joke, “if its Tuesday we must be in Paris”. Not so…with the Euro getting stronger and our desire and longevity increasing, we want to travel more and get the best value for our travel dollar. If you try to price out a tour (or a cruise with all the ports) on the internet independently; it would be about 30% higher. There are leisurely tours that will do only 1 tour per 2 days in a city with time to be on your own and explore with a good guide book and a pair of sneakers. Some wholesalers will do only hotel, train and air along with a choice of tours. These options will allow you to have the independent travel experience while being able to afford an otherwise expensive vacation.
As I keep saying…. travel professionals can save you money. I have so many clients who always ask me after they check into a hotel they have booked on line if I can get them full breakfasts or any other amenities. They see a sign that says “Virtuoso” property and then call me once at the hotel. Call me first so I can provide these amenities for you at no charge, but after you are there and then realize that I could have provided an added value for you….. it’s usually too late.
