Don’t worry, there are still plenty of resorts and warm destinations available for last minute travel. Many people call and are embarrassed about the fact that they haven’t made any plans yet for Christmas or February vacations. Not to worry; we actually prefer last minute plans… a challenge. The problem is airfare. The airlines are gouging last minute travelers with twice the normal cost of travel. The trick is to go online and find airfare to any island then finding a property is less of an issue. Some airlines have just added flights during the holidays and if you are willing to leave on Xmas day and return on New Year’s Eve or 3 days after new years, you will be able to find transportation. You can always drive south and hope for good weather in Florida… but that is a gamble as it can be 60 or 80 degrees during December.
